Some cute pics of da bebe

Baby has a cold :(

poor baby has a cold. mommy got it first, then abby, then daddy. makes me want to cry :( but to the advise of the pediatrician, we had her sleep in her swing last night (to sit her up straight and drain congestion)….and she slept for 8 HOURS!!

Slept through the night!

Our beautiful girl slept through the night after her first bath from midnight to 5 AM. Then again last night from midnight to 7 AM!! It’s not every night, but it’s somethin’!

Abby’s first bath!

Little Abby finally got her first bath on the 10th (when she was 16 days old). We had to wait for her umbilical cord stump to fall off. She seemed to enjoy the bath at first, just hanging out in the warm water, but as soon as we started washing her, she got pretty upset! Don’t worry – afterward, she got a lotion massage and really good snuggle.

Abigail May Hall birth story

We were doing everything we could to induce at home for weeks (all the tricks and old wives tales) but to no avail. We had an induction scheduled for Wed May 21 (her due date), but with no bed availability we didn’t get in until Thurs. We did the gel treatment 3 times, walking (and lunging up and down flights of stairs) in between treatments…this progressed me from 1 to 3 cm and we were sent home—after 13 hours! We were then scheduled for a Pitocen induction that Sat and they called us in earlier in the day, yay! I was still at 3 cm and I lasted without drugs for about 7 hours but only got to 4 cm. Once I got the epidural, with in 2 hours I got to 8 1/2 cm! Once I got to 9 1/2 cm, I stayed there for forever it seemed. The epidural started to fade, I asked them to up the speed of the drops, they refused because they thought I was getting close. I finally got to 10 cm and the doc was doing an emergency C-section at the other hospital. We did some practice pushes while we waited, but then I had to “hold it in” for about 40 min, all the while being able to feel quite a bit more than I wanted. The doc finally got there, I begged again for more meds and was refused. I pushed through 2 contractions (getting an episiotomy in between) and she was out! With quite the healthy set of screaming lungs :) After 16 1/2 hours, Abigail May Hall was born at 6:01 AM on Sunday May 25th weighing in at 7lb 6 oz and 19 3/4 in, with a 9/9 on the Apgar.
